Adriaan zoekt: Een Appartement in Amersfoort

Dear future landlord/home owner:

This introduction letter has been included as part of our rental application to help you learn a bit more about us as people and potential tenants.

We are Adriaan and Kara Engelbrecht, high school sweethearts and almost married for 2 years. We are both born and raised in South Africa and grew up in the town Oudtshoorn.

We both pursued our studies at the University of Stellenbosch. I completed his B Acc degree in chartered accountancy and Kara her degree in Food Science. We are embarking on this exciting new chapter in The Netherlands as a young married couple.

We relocated to The Netherlands at the beginning of September 2025. I am fortunate to work with Forvis Mazars and I have an indefinite contract. Kara is still looking for a job opportunity and do babysitting in the meantime.

I can assure you that I will easily be able to cover all costs, including rent and other living expenses, until Kara finds permanent employment. I will provide official evidence of financial stability when submitting our rental application.

We have over 9 years of successful rental experience. I have renting for 9 years, living in Stellenbosch (5 years), and Moorreesburg (4 years). Kara has also rented in Stellenbosch (5 years), Somerset West (3 years) and Moorreesburg (1 year). We are both well aware of the responsibilities of being tenants, including paying rent on time, maintaining a property, and fostering good relationships with neighbours.

We are friendly and conscientious people with high moral values. We strive to always work hard to achieve our goals. We enjoy staying active with activities like hiking, running and traveling. We pride ourselves on keeping our home as clean as possible. We have never had issues with previous neighbours or landlords and do not anticipate on changing that in the future.
